About Dalfin

Dalfin builds business apps for you. You describe the app you need in your own words, and Dalfin generates all of it: the frontend your team uses, the backend and the database. You can then change it without code, or in the code itself, and publish it for your team.

This page is a quick tour of every area, in the order you'll usually meet them. Each section links to the detailed pages for that area, and each area has its own video.

How the pieces fit together

Your organization decides who can use which system. Inside it you create apps, Dalfin builds them, and you work on each app in its workspace before you publish it as a live app. AEU credits pay for the AI work along the way.

The tour

What Dalfin is

Dalfin is an AI app builder for business apps. From a description, and optionally your requirement documents or a design, it generates a complete app: screens, a backend with its API, and a database. Everything it builds stays yours to change.

Signing in and your home

You sign in on your organization's sign-in page with your email and password; Forgot Password sends you a reset link. After you sign in you land on your Dalfin home: the description box in the middle, and the sidebar with Create New App, All Apps and your recent apps.

Create an app

Describe the app in the box on your Dalfin home: who uses it, what they need to do and what it keeps track of. The paperclip attaches requirements, design references or screenshots, and Figma imports a Figma design. When you select Generate, Dalfin first shows an estimate of the AEU, time and complexity, so you can check it before anything is built.

More: Create an app from a description · Attach requirements, designs or screenshots · Import a Figma design · Review the generation estimate · Build step by step with Dalfin Studio

Watch it build

While Dalfin builds, the Pipeline Progress card in the chat panel ticks off the six stages, with the time each took. Deploy Progress follows the app as it goes live, and More › Deploy lists every deployment step in detail.

Your app's workspace

Open an app from All Apps to reach its workspace. The bar at the top has four tabs: Interface shows the app running at desktop, tablet or mobile size, Customize is the editor, Code is the source code, and More holds deployment, settings, monitoring, the backend and AEU use.

More: Manage your apps (All Apps) · Explore your app: Interface preview

Customize without code

Customize shows your app in the middle, signed in, with its pages on the left. Select any element to change it on the Basic tab (what it is and says) and the Advance tab (how it looks), or drag components in from Add Component. In the icon bar on the left, Theme sets colours and fonts for the whole app, Roles and Permissions and the Access tab decide who sees what, and ER Diagram shows your database tables and how they connect. Changes save as you make them.

More: Open the editor and find your way around · Select elements · Change element properties (Basic tab) · Style elements in detail (Advance tab) · Drag and drop components · Theme your app · Page and element access · Roles and permissions · Data model: the ER diagram

Change the code

Code opens your app's real source code in the browser, with a frontend and a backend folder. Dalfin: Toggle Preview runs the app next to the code so you see each change live, and Claude Code is an AI assistant that explains and changes the code when you ask. Edits go straight into your app's files, so use them with care.

More: Code (in-browser IDE) · Explore and edit your app's code · Run your app next to the code (live preview) · Change your app with Claude Code

Publish and run it

Publish, at the top right of the workspace, puts your changes live; once published, View Live App opens the app your users sign in to. Under More, Settings holds the app's address and lets you connect your own domain, Monitoring shows uptime and resource use, and App Backend lists every endpoint of your app's API.

More: Publish your app · Open and use your app · Connect a custom domain to an app · Monitoring · App backend

Credits

Building uses AEU, Dalfin's credits; every new generation costs at least 5 AEU. More › AEU Consumption shows what one app used, stage by stage, and AEU Usage and Estimation on your Dalfin home shows your balance, what you've used and recommended packs. Request AEU asks for a pack or a custom amount, which a Dalfin admin approves.

People and access

Your profile picture opens Settings, where your organization manages its people. Under System Configuration (shown once you have opened an app), System Users lists the people who can use a system, with their role and department, User Departments groups them into departments such as Finance or IT, and Permissions Sets holds the roles and what each may do. Under Organization Configuration, Assign System Users gives people access by dragging them onto a role in a system, because people only see the systems they're assigned to, and Organization Settings keeps your organization's details. Inside one app, Roles and Permissions in the editor then decides what each role may see.

Words you'll see

  • App: something Dalfin built from your description. It has its own pages, menu, sign-in, backend and database.
  • System: what people in your organization are given access to. Each app is a system.
  • Workspace: one app's page in Dalfin, with the Interface, Customize, Code and More tabs.
  • AEU: the credits your organization spends on AI work such as generating an app.
